Area Assistant Director of Finance – Job Description
Role:
The Area Assistant Director of Finance will support the Director of Finances for three locations, Hotel Maya, Doubletree Carson & Hyatt Pasadena.
Duties:
Prepare and reconcile all cash and balance sheets and ensure they are done in a timely and complete manner.
Assist with producing the monthly financial statements – prepare and post the journal entries and accruals as it relates to payroll, utilities and direct expenses.
Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual hotels’ occupancy, sales/use tax.
Coordinate and assist with the monthly forecast and annual budget process.
Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies and imbalances.
Train, monitor and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of financial and cash controls and information flow throughout the other departments in the hotel to ensure compliance, accurate records and minimized liabilities, losses and expenses.
Qualification Requirements
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Thorough knowledge and understanding how to reconcile cash and balance sheet accounts.
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
Has several years’ experience overseeing multi-hotels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented and highly organized.
Excellent critical thinking skills.
Solid understanding of The Uniform Systems of Accounts.
Excellent written and oral communication skill.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
At least 2 years’ experience working directly in accounting
Hotel experience required
