*Overview*
Pasadena Christian School (PCS) is a faith-based, non-denomination Christian School with an enrollment of 375 students from Pre-School through 8th grade.
PCS seeks a Controller (CO) who will be responsible for record-keeping and reporting of financial information.
This will include but is not limited to supervising all financial-related activities, budget development, forecasting future growth, financial transactions, record keeping, financial reports, analyzing, strategizing, and determining/reporting the financial health and activities of the school.
The full-time Exempt manager position requires interaction on and off-campus with PCS constituents and interdepartmental communication with all School Directors.
The position is part of the Leadership Administrative Team (LAT) and reports to the Chief Executive Officer, Head of School.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following items:
1.
Direct and prepare all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and all related reports.
2.
Develop, distribute, and monitor purchasing, receiving, collection, reimbursements, and payroll procedures.
3.
Work under the direction of the CEO/Head of School to plan and establish priorities for the school's finances.
4.
Prepare monthly financial statements for presentation to the Board of Directors.
5.
Analyze and report budget variances.
6.
Coordinate the budgeting process, including the operating budget, for approval by the Board of Directors.
7.
Make and oversee necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
8.
Report capital improvement budget, enrollment, and personnel projections.
9.
Analyze and make recommendations for reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
10.
Prepare and participate in the annual financial audit process conducted by the outside accounting firm.
Present findings to the Board of Directors.
11.
Prepare and provide information to the outside accounting firm for annual tax returns.
12.
Oversee depreciation schedule.
13.
Review, recommend, and approve 403B plan sponsorship.
14.
Create, maintain, and update contracts for the school.
15.
Prepare and distribute department budgets quarterly.
16.
Perform bank reconciliations.
17.
Work closely with the admissions department regarding enrollment and the development office on outside funding sources.
18.
Review and manage the Tuition Assistance Program.
19.
Perform payroll (school platform is Paycom) and perform/oversee accounts payable and receivables.
20.
May be assigned other tasks and duties directed by the CEO/Head of School.
*Qualifications and Personal Qualities*
1.
Has a credible, trustworthy, and Godly character of servant leadership and agrees with the School’s Statement of Faith in professional, private, and public life.
Is a person of integrity with a strong Christian reputation in the community.
2.
CPA and MBA preferred & strong with processes and controls
3.
Undergraduate degree in accounting.
A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is preferred.
4.
Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
5.
Increasing responsibility in the accounting department at an educational organization/nonprofit or public accounting experience with a focus on education/nonprofit strongly preferred
6.
Has at least seven years of financial experiencesix to years of human resources experience.
7.
Has exceptional written and oral communication skills.
8.
Is discreet, adhering to high standards of privacy and confidentiality.
9.
Is administratively organized and maintains composure and character.
10.
Is responsive to addressing conflict.
11.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.
00 - $140,000.
